Happy Holidays

Summer has been here in Sweden for a while, and tomorrow we celebrate Midsummer which is some kind of old ritual, nowadays we just meet and eat. That is nice too.

For me, this begins the summer holiday and the big difference is that I am not alone with the twins all day, now we can be two parents with three kids. The odds for us keeping them alive and happy just got a lot better.

I hope I will be able to write some stuff for this blog during the summer, it must rain some day I guess. So if you have any questions regarding photography, studio lighting or anything else you think I might be able to answer, please let me know.

Either as a comment here, or something on my Facebook page.

Have a nice summer.

    Hey Stefan,
how about a blog entry about using white and black background Paper effectively, setting a scene with these colors and how to light them correctly? That would rock!

Thanks a lot for the great blog 🙂

I mostly use white backgrounds, but make them look grey or something else with a little help of light and gels. Will try to do a post like this later, if you could be more specific on what type of photos you were thinking of, it would help making the post better. Let me know.

I’m thinking about using the background to create different moods. Like letting the white fade to dark grey and using the black for really moody and dramatic lighting. Or maybe trying to reverse the obvious and create really moody shots on white and lighthearted portraits on black. I’m interested how you approach a new shoot using white and black backgrounds in the studio and lighting them effectively.
