
Recently I shoot a couple of studio portraits for some ads, the client was a temp agency focused mainly on recruitment and staffing companies in the finance and banking sector. My assignment was to use their staff as models and create seven different photos all communicating the same thing – this might be the big company hotshots of tomorrow.

Recently I had the honor of photographing a very talented Swedish comic book artist named Kim W Andersson. Maybe not a worldwide celebrity, but well known in comic book circles. This was a test shot before taking studio portraits for a consulting company in Sweden. Having recently bought a Profoto AcuteB 600R I tried out a studio setup with four flashes. Usually, I use a reflector as fill, but having another flash head to work with, I wanted to see the difference in light and how it could be used to more flexibly lighten the shadows in my portraits in a better way.

Just before Christmas I gathered some friends and their families for a photo shoot in a rental photo studio. It was a full day with shooting parents and their kids (with different success, some liked it a lot and were great models, others had a bad day and ran around trying to avoid getting caught on film). But, child photography is really hard, and including parents can sometimes making it even harder. So, except for a day or so every year, I try my best to avoid it.
