Statistics, a comparison

statistik-2011-vs-2012

I check Google Analytics a bit too much, it is interesting, and with the new feature to compare to previous year or a custom period, it makes it all the more interesting. But when comparing the visits to my blogs and portfolio 2012 to 2011 I thought that there was something wrong with the numbers.

Look how closely the blue line (2012) follows the orange line (2011).

It is almost silly.

Stats amuse me, and I am not even too sure why.

I noticed the same thing with my blog stats over the last five years, while there has been steady and constant growth the highs and lows track each other year on year. I know for example that January and February are my strongest growth months and May is my lowest. If only I could work out why I could probably tap into it and achieve more growth!

I wish I could dive deeper into the statistics, but now on paternity leave I haven’t really looked so much at the diagrams lately. Must do that as soon as I start working again, one thing is for sure, not blogging for a while makes all the curves point in the wrong direction.
